Der Golem

“Der Golem” is a German silent film from 1920, directed by Paul Wagner (also starring as the hero monster), that represents an early horror film genre and is an icon of the German expressionism as well as Weimar cinema.

In 2017 Lukasz Poleszak both composed and recorded the original score to the film, that was enthusiastically received by Wagner’s picture fans, and caught the eye of Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation. This led to the score being, shown along with the movie’s new, recovered from original negatives, 4K quality as a part of 75th Venice Film Festival in 2017. As a result, in 2018 Lukasz’s music was added to the official publishing, and is now available on Blu-ray and DVD all over the world.
